Mon. May 16, 1864
This is a fine morning. Have had my wounds dressed and feel pretty well. Had nothing for breakfast but coffee.
Tues. May 17, 1864
Another fine day. We have had a little more to eat today, we got coffee and 2 hard tacks. My wounds are doing well. We hear no fighting for a day or 2.
Wed. May 18, 1864
A fine morning. We got about a half a pint of coffee and 3 hard tacks for breakfast. I have had my wounds dressed and got on a clean new white cotton shirt. I wrote a letter to Ett today for the 3rd time.
